About this project 

Design context 

The principal has set you, class 3D, to brainstorm, plan, and design an exciting new school addition. Your dream sustainable garden! In the next 9 weeks you will come up with a digital design and present it to your class for them vote on. 

Design Criteria 

Using digital drawing applications such as paint.net or sketch.io you must create garden design that, 1) has at least two sustainable elements and, 2) considers harsh weather conditions, Let your creativity shine in your design!

But what are sustainable elements?

The elements you add will be evaluated as sustainable if they “improve the gardens impact on the environment” 

 

Some examples of sustainable elements  might include:

Why are we doing this project?

We are doing this project as it various benefits for the students.

​

1) It teaches them about sustainability and how to create solutions to sustainability issues. 

2) They feel a sense of contribution to the school community.

3) They get to express creativity.

4) It is heavily linked to the Australian Curriculum's, digital technologies learning area, general capabilities (specifically digital literacy, critical and creative thinking, and literacy) and the cross curriculum priority sustainability. What can you do?

This will be a school based project so it is not necessary for anything to be done at home, although it is always welcomed. The most important thing is attendance for the project lessons every Wednesday, every day counts :)
